Kellie Walsh

In Western Civilizations, I learned about Europe from the seventeenth century to contemporary times. We first talked about Hobbes and Locke and then moved on to the Enlightenment. After the Enlightenment, we focused on how it influenced the American and French revolutions. Next, we discussed the Industrial Revolution and both waves of Colonization. Then, we covered World War I and World War II. It was interesting to see how one event or movement can cause many other occurrences.

This class will help me when I become a teacher. My major allows me to teach both English and social studies. Western Civilizations provided me with information that I may have to teach. It also made me a more cultured person. This class allowed me to learn about the history of the country I was living in at the time.
